Internship Reflection

End of Semester/Internship Reflection

Reflecting on my internship and capstone experience, I was able to connect what I learned in the classroom to real-world healthcare operations. Through my work at Ascension Medical Group, I gained hands-on experience in quality improvement, workflow efficiency, and team collaboration. My capstone helped me think more strategically, while my internship allowed me to apply those ideas in a practical setting. I developed stronger skills in communication, data analysis, and problem-solving by working on projects like improving quality metrics and analyzing employee engagement.

This experience also showed me the importance of both patient-centered care and a supportive work environment. I learned that improving healthcare is not only about clinical outcomes but also about efficient systems and engaged staff. Overall, my internship and capstone experience helped me grow professionally and prepared me for a future career in healthcare management by giving me confidence and real-world insight into how healthcare organizations operate.
